An Integrative Approach

You are more than your health history.integrative approach nutrition

The integrative approach to nutrition honors you as a whole person. Unlike nutrition counseling aimed at medical conditions or demographics, I will design a specialized plan to meet your individual needs. My interventions are evidence-based and feature diet, supplements, functional foods, complimentary practices (such as massage or yoga) and lifestyle change to promote healing and balance. As your nutritionist, I’ll consider your unique personality, lifestyle, history, and budget to shape a plan that’s just right for you.

Emily told me right at the beginning that her approach was pathophysiological and holistic; we would be looking at functional nutrition with the intent on healing from the inside, adopting an integrative health practice approach. I therefore had a good understanding of her philosophy and role and was well able to make a judgment that it aligned with my own views. -Shuna M.

Functional Nutrition

I focus on beyond symptoms to discover the root cause of imbalance.

This is the paradigm of functional and integrative nutrition. It is the heart of my practice. By considering the interconnected nature of our body’s systems, I use concepts from physiology and biochemistry to determine the underlying cause of your complaints. I’ll concentrate on research-based diet, nutrition and lifestyle changes specific to your needs to help restore balance and promote true healing. As a functional nutritionist, I believe the body can heal itself if it is provided optimal nutrients and a nourishing environment.

Individualized Care

integrative approach functional nutritionJust as an integrative approach to nutrition considers your needs as a whole person, functional nutrition honors the unique biological needs of your body.  This dual approach ensures that your plan to healing will be specific to your needs, both holistically and physiologically.  When it comes to health and nutrition, there is no “one-size-fits-all” path to healing. Your body is unique, your needs are unique and your care should support YOU. Contact me today to set up a free 15-minute introductory phone session to see if nutritional therapy is right for you!

I am not a medical doctor and cannot diagnose, prescribe or discontinue medication, though I am happy to work in collaboration with your primary physician as part of a complete care team.
